Soling World Championship ~ A fantastic day, with blue waters, blue sky and nice mistral with 10 to 15 knots welcomed the 45 Solings at the 50th Anniversary of the Soling Class in Tuscany, Italy.
There was a fight on the pin end in the first race of the day that caused many to be over early, but it was the tack to the right side which paid.
Hungary’s Team Litkey showed their strength and took the bullet ahead Canada’s Bill, Joanne and William Abbott. Following in third place was Argentina’s Team Longvie, Martin Busch, Eduardo Zimmermann and Tomas Peuvrel.
In the second race the thermic breeze never came in until the second beat. It shifted to the right and many teams lost ground. But it was Hungary’s Team Litkey who won the race again followed this time by Humgary’s Sandor Varjas, Laszlo Kovacsi and Gabor Meretei with Germany’s Karl Haist, Martin Zeileis and Simon Haist coming through in third.
