The long anticipated premier of the first two MC31s to hit the water played out in Saturday’s passage race between Melbourne and Geelong for the start of the Geelong Festival of Sails.
With John Taylor’s Vindaloo and Rohan Veal’s 38 South Racing sailing their respective boats quite literally ‘straight out of the box’ – Rohan’s sails arrived in Melbourne this morning – both skippers were delighted with their first outing, and are looking forward to using their kites tomorrow, after an upwind race today.
Rohan Veal was looking forward to the opportunity to use the boat’s spinnaker for the first time in the Windward Leeward races today (Sunday) and Monday,
