This month’s opening yacht is a stunning 57-meter concept, created right here in the Middle East by the Team for Design studio. Penned by Enrico Gobbi himself, the M57 Eidos was conceived as a response to feedback from the market for yachts of
this size and features supremely elegant lines, typical of the Dubai-based office.
Gobbi has fused a number of nautical influences, such as the tense curved bow (inspired by the rake of sailing yachts), the imposing fin that encloses the flybridge and the triple decks’ rear structure (resembling the gills of a shark) with the overall, cutting edge profile of a sword. The whole design is a compromise between the use of edged surfaces and softer, rounded details, with Gobbi even designing the M57’s lighting plan to focus on the light and shade effects generated by these exterior design details.
The Eidos combines looks with luxury too, with the Owner’s suite benefiting from unique, floor-to-ceiling glazing that runs the entire length of the area. However, it’s the beach area at the stern that really impresses, with Gobbi designing it to look and feel like an exclusive, on-water, lounge bar. This relaxing area overlooks the transom, which converts into a huge 15sqm beach platform. With the Mondo Marine M57 Eidos, Gobbi has combined energy, style and dynamism in this grand project, a yacht that is expected to have great appeal on the market.
