Rolex Big Boat Series overall 2015

The Rolex Big Boat Series, held for more than 50 years on the usually windy San Francisco bay out of the St. Francis yacht club, struggled with light breeze on all four scheduled race days, with postponements the first three days and the cancellation of all racing on the final day.

While the rest of the fleet heard the cancellation announcement while still docked at the St. Francis YC, 78′ Kialoa III sailed by the club and the Golden Gate bridge, giving the racers on shore a lesson in light air sailing.

Despite the postponements, when the breeze did fill-in there was plenty of solid racing in all classes. Chuck Lantz shot these photos of the prize-giving, including the presentation of Rolex watches to each of the featured class winners.
