The 78th annual Knost Regatta, an all-women’s regatta, sails Saturday and Sunday at Pass Christian Yacht Club. Six races are scheduled, including competition in the one-design Flying Scots and the offshore PHRF class.
Host PCYC has won a record 28 Knost Regatta titles, including last year. The 2014 Handicap Division race was won by the Bay-Waveland Yacht Club. The offshore PHRF class gets its warning signal at 11:55 a.m. today. The first Flying Scot race begins at 12:30 p.m. with the first Optimist race at 12:45 p.m. On Sunday, the offshore class sails at 10:55 a.m. with the Scots in action at 11:55 a.m. No male assistance is allowed in the Flying Scot class with the boat in the water. Sailors in the offshore class are competing for the Drury Dragon Schneider Trophy.
Registration will be in the PCYC clubhouse between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Saturday. Flying Scot races doesn’t have registration fees. The fee for PHRF handicap class yachts will be $50.
A Trophy presentation will be held at the conclusion of all races on Sunday.
