François Gabart & new trimaran SVR Lazartigue

The French group Kresk, chaired by Didier Tabary and owner of the SVR, Lazartigue and Fillmed cosmetics brands, announces the acquisition of the new Ultim, the trimaran built by François Gabart’s ocean racing team, MerConcept.

This multihull with its sleek lines and futuristic design is capable of sailing at high speed around the planet. It will carry the colors of the group’s three brands and will be named SVR-Lazartigue.

The Kresk Group’s commitment to François Gabart, for the next four years, is part of its desire to accelerate its actions in favor of the environment.

François Gabart is one of the most talented sailors of his generation, with an impressive record of achievements (Vendée Globe, Route du Rhum, The Transat, Transat Jacques Vabre and record holder of the 42-day solo round the world race). The skipper embodies the values that are specific to the SVR, Lazartigue and Fillmed brands: progress and performance with a strong desire to consider societal and environmental issues.

“The Kresk Group, through its brands SVR, Lazartigue and Fillmed, is proud and happy to embark on this sea adventure with François Gabart and this boat, a technological challenge that matches our common ambition. This marriage was an obvious choice, a marriage of passion and values around innovation and commitment. For us, this union is also a new step in our development strategy in clean beauty and a great opportunity to go further in this approach. Our brands are already ahead in many areas and will be even more so tomorrow. In parallel to these responsible cosmetics, we want to take a step further and invest in the long term around the protection of the oceans with the creation of the Kresk4Oceans endowment fund. “said Didier Tabary, President of the Kresk Group.

Kresk4Oceans’ first project will be the fight against plastic pollution that alters the beauty of the sea, affects its fauna, and ultimately affects humans. Kresk4oceans, alongside François Gabart, will implement awareness-raising and educational operations and will finance scientific projects of general interest in the field of recycling and the development of new eco-friendly materials.

“It is a great opportunity for me as a sailor but also for my team to sail under the colors of SVR-Lazartigue. Didier Tabary and his group share a common passion, that of the sea. Dreaming, imagining, innovating, building, optimizing, and performing are all part of MerConcept’s DNA. Fighting to win only makes sense if it is associated with strong social, societal, and environmental commitments. It was important for me to find a partner who is also committed to a cause that brings us together: the protection of the oceans. We can now focus on the preparation of the trimaran SVR – LAZARTIGUE in view of the Transat Jacques Vabre” continued François Gabart, skipper of SVR-Lazartigue.

The SVR-Lazartigue trimaran is currently being finalized at the MerConcept shipyard in Concarneau. This giant flying trimaran, a technological jewel with an original cockpit, will be launched on July 22, in the colors of its new owner.

After a period of adjustment and fine-tuning, the trimaran will set off for its first race, the Transat Jacques Vabre, starting in Le Havre on November 7, 2021.
