It’s all over. A good regatta for some. Well run by lRO, John Chiplin and the Darling Point Sailing Squadron and particularly Lyn Hanlon who seemed to be everywhere doing everything – on the water taking photos, doing results, running the bar, making lunches etc. Well done volunteers!
David Hayter and Trent Neighbor sailing DPSS boat, “Wang Wang” are confirmed winners of the 2018 Australian title. David Alexander and Cameron McDonald from South Australia sailing “Alexander Sails” are runners up, with Mark Krystic and James Lanati from Black Rock Yacht Club, Victoria, in “Too Late to Stop Now”, taking third place in the regatta.
Race nine was sailed in a light NNE breeze that oscillated thru about 25 degrees all afternoon.

Starting on time at 1200, Mark Krystic led early and built a comfortable margin that he held to the finish, despite a freshening breeze that brought the fleet up on the downwind leg to the finish. He was followed by Dave Alexander, 2nd and Dave Hayter who had been cruising in about 5 – 6 place but finally got up to third at the finish.
