Melges IC37 East Coast Championship 2021

The Melges IC37 Class has convened in Rye, NY for the East Coast Championship hosted by American Yacht Club. The Championship serves as the kickoff event for the busy summer one-design sailing season.

Racing starts Friday, April 30 and runs through Sunday, May 2. The lineup showcases a collection of teams including 2019 National Champions, Members Only, and Doug Newhouse’s new boat, Yonder.

The 2021 Season will feature one-design competition at seven regattas starting this weekend in New York continuing to Newport, RI. The fleet will then travel south for a three-event winter series in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The packed calendar is a welcome sight after an abbreviated 2020 season due to the pandemic with teams eager to get out to the race course.
