The Royal Southern Summer Series provides outstanding racing for keelboats, one designs, sportsboats and dayboats.
Four weekend-regattas will be run in The Solent in May, June, July, and September. The Royal Southern’s purpose-built clubhouse on the banks of the River Hamble will host exceptional social events throughout the series. Passionate corinthian sailors, young and old will be taking part, rubbing shoulders with Olympic, America’s Cup and round the world sailors.
Well over 100 boats are expected to compete at the Royal Southern Summer Series. Confirmed classes separated into Black, White, Red and Green Groups include IRC Racing, Performance 40, IRC Cruiser, J/111, HP30, Cape 31, J24, J/70, SB20, RS Elite, XOD, and VPRS. Other classes are welcome to join in the action and shoreside fun.

Held Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday to avoid clashing with King Charles III’s coronation. Three race groups will be set with suitable courses for IRC, J/111, HP30, J/70, SB20, and Cape 31. North Sails experts will not only be racing but also out on the water observing and recording the action for an after-racing debrief, including drone footage. Prizes for the North Sails May Regatta will include merchandise from North Sails.
Champagne Charlie June Regatta – 3-4 June
Three race areas will be set with suitable courses for IRC, J/111, HP30, J/70, SB20, J/24, XOD, VPRS, and IRC Cruiser. Charles Heidsieck Champagne will be providing the prizes. Salcombe Gin July Regatta – 8-9 July
Two race areas will be set with suitable courses for IRC, J/111, HP30, J/70, and SB20. Salcombe Gin will be providing the prizes. The expansive Den’s Deck at the Royal Southern Yacht Club will be transformed into The Salcombe Gin Cocktail Bar with tutored tasting at the water’s edge.
