RSHYR 2023 | Chris Lewis – Navigator of LawConnect

Chris Lewis, navigator aboard LawConnect, explains the unusual challenges of weather routing for the 2023 Rolex Sydney Hobart Race when the various wind models remain so divergent, only two days prior to the start.

The key to this uncertainty is the Low pressure cell in the upper atmosphere that is moving dynamically on the east coast and keeping everyone guessing as to how it will evolve and what that means for the race.
