The racing off the south coast of Antigua will be magnificent; the trade winds have been blowing for many weeks. Warm air, solid breeze and a good sea state promise perfect conditions for the powerful fleet. Designed to be solely for the pleasure of superyacht owners, their guests and crew, the Superyacht Challenge Antigua organises competitive racing and laid back parties. Nelson’s Dockyard, the UNESCO World Heritage site, is party central with festivities organised at the Super Yacht Dock beach. The historic Admiral’s Inn hosts the Welcome Party at Boom Restaurant, and a Prize Giving amongst the 18th century pillars of the famous hotel.
The 140ft (42m) German Frers ketch Rebecca is one of the world’s most beautiful superyachts. Rebecca first raced in the Superyacht Challenge Antigua in 2012 taking first place, and this will be her fifth appearance. Rebecca will be celebrating her 20th birthday during the regatta, which is certain to provide a memorable dock party – Superyacht style!
