Yannick Bestaven Wins the Vendée Globe 2020/21

Yannick Bestaven on Maître CoQ IV has won the Vendée Globe 2020/21 finishing the race at 03:19 UTC on Thursday 28th January in a time of 80 days, 13 hours, 59 minutes and 46 seconds.

While being the third boat to arrive in Les Sables d’Olonne, the 10 hours 15 minutes awarded to him for diverting to assist Kevin Escoffier in PRB was enough to propel the skipper above Charlie Dalin and Louis Burton who finished late on Wednesday evening.

He must wait for the usual checks to be carried out by the measurement committee before the result can be fully confirmed.

  • Official corrected time : 80 days 03 hours 44 minutes 46 seconds
  • Average speed on the theoretical course: 24,365.74 nm at 12.60 knots
  • Miles sailed 28,583.8 nm at an average of 14.78 knots
