Ocean Globe Race

Translated 9, the first finisher on Leg 2 of the Ocean Globe race is expected in Auckland late on Tuesday morning (NZT).

The 14 boat fleet started the second Leg in Cape Town on November 5, 2023 – and have been racing through the Southern Ocean for five weeks.

The Ocean Globe race is a no technology crewed race around the world sailing the the traditional four leg Whitbread Round the World Race course. It celebrates 50 years of Whitbread Round the World Races, boats and sailors. 14 yachts are competing in four divisions.

Translated 9, a Swan 65, formerly the 1977/78 Whitbread entrant ADC Accutrac is expected to cross the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron finish line. Pen Duick VI and Spirit of Helsinki 10-12 hours later. The OGR yachts will be docked in Jellicoe Harbour, Wynyard Marina, Auckland.
