The 2026 Newport Bermuda Race is officially under way! A beautiful and somewhat blustery day in Newport set the scene for the beginning of the 54th Thrash To The Onion Patch.
The fleet left Narragansett Bay in waves, reflecting the multiple divisions and classes across which the nearly 150 competing boats were divided. Shoreside, thousands of spectators came out to Fort Adams for the Starting Line Festival, enjoying stunning views and great summer fun.

Now the fleet is headed to the Gulf Stream, there have already been a few retirements but everyone is safe and headed back to Newport. You can keep up with the boats on the Palm Beach Motor Yachts Race Tracker and the race’s live standings. More photos will be coming soon at Photos.BermudaRace.com.
